After major hurricane disasters, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) dispatches Building Performance Assessment Teams (BPATs) to gauge the successes and failures of buildings to resist the wind and flood forces of these storms. The groups document the results of their evaluations in building performance assessment reports. This three hour course summarizes the BPAT reports for hurricane Katrina.
