Solar Training for Design Professionals
This course discusses developing and delievering solar training workshops and reference materials.
Credit: 2 PDH
Instructor: Juan C. Borrero, P.E.
In this two hour course, the engineer will learn about developing and delivering solar training workshops and reference materials to teach about the benefits and technical requirements of incorporation photovoltaics into their building designs. The workshops delivered covered a wide variety of important topics related to solar panel installation, financing, policies, and benefits. The workshops were targeted towards key audiences like architects and engineers in the field. This report reveals the key findings from hosting workshops in various cities across the country.
Engineers taking this course will explore these key findings in order to make their own solar training workshops successful too. These findings include successful outreach, scheduling, and survey strategies. This course helps students avoid mishaps, such as spending on advertising that won’t bring returns and spending time on content that won’t be seen by potential customers. This course also offers ideas for how to assess student improvement before and after the course, so early solar workshop performance can be assessed effectively.
