The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law meant to safeguard qualified persons with disabilities from discrimination in a job, government services and programs, transportation, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The ADA covers a large vary of legal and restrictive problems with relation to Americans with disabilities. This six hour course will concentrate on the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (the ADA Accessibility Design Guidelines), with which engineers and designers are required to follow when working on new construction or alterations of existing structures.
