In this three hour course, the engineer will learn about HPWHs and their operation, the cost and energy savings of HPWHs as well as the variables that affect HPWH performance, reliability, and efficiency, guidelines for proper installation and maintenance of HPWHs, selection criteria for locating HPWHs, and important differences between ERWH and HPWH installations. This course covers all of the necessary information to properly assess, install, maintain, and manage a HPWH, including industry standard values that can be used for reference.
Engineers who take this course will gain more familiarity with industry standard HPWH heat generation, dimension, energy savings, and cost values. This can be helpful for engineers sharing the benefits of HPWHs as compared to ERWHs. Knowledge of HPWHs benefits also encourage reduced annual electricity usage, thus improving the sustainability of residential areas. After taking this course, engineers will be able to confidently recommend installation locations for proposed HPWHs regardless of the climate. Engineers who take this course will also have the knowledge to be able to maintain HPWHs as well.
